Bottom Camera Position

Now that you have confirmed the top camera and nozzle tip locations are perfectly aligned, set the bottom camera position immediately.

Do NOT home the machine at this point. If you already homed, return and re-validate the top-camera-to-nozzle-tip offsets. The bottom camera position must be set directly after the top camera offset is fully calibrated — all subsequent calibrations depend on it. Do not adjust the bottom camera position again once set.

Setting the Bottom Camera Position

  1. Open the bottom camera settings: Machine Setup → Cameras → OpenPnpCaptureCamera Bottom.
  2. Access the Position tab.
  3. Ensure the bottom camera's Z-height is set to 31.5.
  4. Select Nozzle: N1 (N045, Head H1) from the machine controls dropdown.
  5. Click to bring the nozzle tip over the bottom camera.
  6. Use the arrows in Machine Controls to center the nozzle tip in the bottom camera feed.
Fine-tuning focus: the bottom camera is pre-adjusted before shipping, but you can fine-tune it. Loosen the set-screw in the side and slightly rotate the lens until sharp. If it looks blurry when zoomed right in, it may be pixelation — try zooming out.
  1. Once the nozzle tip is sharp and centered, click Capture Toolhead Location to save the position.
  2. Click Apply, then File → Save Configuration.
Reminder: do not change the bottom camera position after it is set — all other calibrations are based on it. If you crash the nozzle, ensure the saved coordinates are still accurate before continuing.

Next: Continue to Nozzle Tip Calibration.
