Electronics & Wiring
Control Box Installation
- Remove the control box from the packaging.
- Remove the cover by lifting by the tab on the bottom. Set the cover aside.
- Get 2x M5x10mm socket head bolts and 2x T-slot nuts from the hardware kit.
- Drop the M5x10mm bolts into the channels in the control box and ensure they stick out the back side.
- Loosely thread the T-slot nuts onto both bolts using an allen key.
- Loosely attach onto the left Y-gantry.
Get the X drag chain support from the packaging. Use the straight side to correctly space the control box from the front left leg, then tighten the control box in place at the correct spacing.
Underside Wiring
Gently move the head all the way back and lift the machine onto its back legs.
- Find the Y2 cable on the right side (labeled "Y2 Motor"). Loosen the cable clamp on the staging plate, route the cable under it, and tighten.
- Route the Y2 cable across the staging plate and secure with the other cable clamp — pull it taut so it doesn't hang or droop.
- Route the Y2 cable up and over the control box, along with the Y1 cable pre-routed on the left Y gantry.
Feeder Blade Harness Set
- From the Feeder Blade Harness Set, take the longer cable labeled FRONT BLADES / BACK BLADES.
- Plug FRONT BLADES into the connector on the right side of the top rail.
- Push the cable into four extrusion cable clips and snap them into the extrusion.
- Plug the other end into the connector on the right side of the bottom rail and secure with another clip.
- Take the second cable labeled FEEDERS-BLADE / FEEDERS-MOBO.
- Plug FEEDERS-BLADE into the connector on the left side of the top rail and secure with a clip.
- Route the other end over the control box. Remove the rubber band holding the two-cable bundle on the staging plate and route over the control box.
- Separate the USB cable from the rest and route the remaining four into the cable retention feature in the control box.
Bring the machine back down on four legs with the control box facing you. Plug the four routed cables into their ports, matching labels with the control board.
Drag Chains
- Rotate the machine to face the back. Pull the gantry towards you.
- Get the drag chain assembly and remove the rubber band from the head-side end. Lay it around the machine.
- Grab the print on the end of the chain on the left side and route its two cables into the channel on the back of the head.
- Rotate the drag chain end in place, flush against the head, and bolt it with an M5x16mm socket head bolt.
- Plug in the top ring light and top camera using the two routed cables.
- Tuck the Z motor and Z limit cables into the slot; plug Z limit into its connector and Z motor into the Z motor.
-
Pick up the X drag chain and hang it over the back leg.
-
Slide the X gantry drag chain support panel underneath and rest the chain on top.
-
Align and bolt the left side into the Y gantry with 2x M5x10mm bolts.
-
On the right, align and bolt the drag chain to the support panel and Y gantry with 2x M5x16mm flat head bolts.
-
Thread 2x more M5x16mm bolts through the Y drag chain by the X motor into "Y Drag Chain Mounts Here", then tighten with the squaring bracket.
-
Plug the X motor cable and XY limit cable in; zip-tie and snip excess.
-
Lay the Y drag chain on the control box and secure with 2x M5x16mm bolts.
-
Rotate so the control box faces you. Separate USB from the bundle and route the rest into the control box, matching labels to ports.
-
Reattach the cover (top edge first, push the bottom until it snaps).
-
Push blue tubing into the R pneumatic port and red tubing into the L port.
Nozzle Motors
- Rotate to face the front and pull the gantry toward you.
- Plug the R motor cable into the right nozzle motor port, zip-tie, and snip.
- Press the blue tubing into the pneumatic coupler on top of the R motor.
- Plug the L motor cable into the left nozzle motor port, zip-tie, and snip.
- Press the red tubing into the pneumatic coupler on top of the L motor.
